This is impossible how can I try to select just one favourite memory of such a beautiful, wonderful, happy, smiling grandson whose smile would always fill my heart with gladness. From that first moment of seeing him when he was just born and holding him for the first time, to watching him grow into a happy, loving little toddler always smiling that beautiful smile. Such wonderful and important memories that will be with me forever. I remember the first time we had him overnight with us, good as gold, woke up for his 3am bottle, we couldn’t get the bottle fast enough so he made his displeasure known, soon as we got our act together and he had his bottle, a quick burp, him not me, then back to sleep till the morning. Having the pleasure of sharing a holiday with all the family in Spain, no prizes for guessing who was the star of the show. Dressed in his little wet suite in and out of the water, splashing around and laughing. Going out for dinner, we first had him sitting at the table in his buggy and he wasn’t to happy about that, as soon as mum had the good sense to get a high chair so he could sit and see us all, he was his usual happy smiling self, lording it over all of us. The excitement of his first birthday and Christmas him sitting there surrounded by wrapping paper and presents, with that look on his face as if to say, I like this. Like most little boys he had a fascination with dinosaurs. I remember being at his house and he would run up with a plastic dinosaur in his hand and growl, I would pretend to be scared and shake my arms around in fright. He would laugh and giggle run off then come back for more. I know mum and dad wanted a favourite memory but I just can’t choose. My everlasting memory will be of a wonderful, happy little boy who had the ability to make everybody feel uplifted just with that lovely smile and cheeky twinkle in his eye. It goes without saying that Ethan will always be in our hearts and he will be loved and cherished forever. Lots of love little man, Grandad xxxxx
